Kitchen Plumbing Tips To Save Your Holiday Party

Kitchen Plumbing Tips To Save Your Holiday Party

The last few years one of my daughter-in-laws, her aunt, and myself host our family Thanksgiving Dinner. We go all out cooking a formal dinner for about 40 people that would feed 100.

Here is just a little sample of our formal dinner we served this year for our family during Thanksgiving.

Now that Thanksgiving has come and gone, and Christmas and New Years are right around the corner. I thought I would share a couple of helpful kitchen tips that can keep you from having to make that dreaded call to your plumber.

Garbage Disposal:

Avoid putting potato peelings, Apple peelings, rice, and bones down your garbage disposal. These items can clog and jam your disposal. For the items you do push down your garbage disposal make sure you run cold water down the disposal while it is running. A good rule of thumb is about 60 seconds, or about the time is takes to sing the first verse and chorus of Deck the Halls.

When it comes to cleaning up the kitchen, it can be a challenge to find a place to pour the left over juices from that turkey or ham. You want to avoid pouring the liquid down the kitchen drain as it is full of grease.  Pouring any types of grease down the drain can become solid in the sewer pipes making it hard or impossible to drain.

If you find yourself with clogged drains, leaking faucets or pipes, or without hot water. We are here for you, just give us a call.

From our family to yours,
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
