Sump Pump Time

January 20, 2020 by Eric Gasa
Sump Pump Under House

This is the time of year during heavy rainfall, that you may need a sump pump under your house. If your home’s yard lacks the proper grading to move rain water away from the foundation, the water could end up accumulating in the crawl space under your home.

Here are three things that can lessen the amount of water that accumulates under your home during heavy rain storms:

  1. Install a storm drain around your home and connect the downspouts to the storm drain to carry the water away from your home.
  2. Have the ground around your property graded to allow the water to flow away from the foundation.
  3. Install a sump pump in the lowest area of your crawlspace, where the water collects inside a sump pit. The sump pump will remove any water that collects in the crawlspace and discharge the water through PVC piping to the nearest storm drain, or a drain pipe discharging the water at least 10 feet away from the foundation.

As the owner of Accro Plumbing I help my customers with their water issues. If you would like a free estimate on having a sump pump installed along with a storm drain system, give me a call at (417) 839-1417 or fill out our contact form.
